Central Hindu School


Central Hindu School, formerly known as Central Hindu College, is one of India's largest schools which is situated at Kamachha in the heart of the holy city Varanasi. It provides education to all society of people and is well equipped with highly qualified faculties and laboratory. It owns a large Hall known as 'SARGA HALL' . It has two floored library where approx 200 students can sit and has largest playground of Purvanchal, where Inter-school football tournament is played. It is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) and is governed by Banaras Hindu University and Senior High School (11th standard) was called Pre University Course (PUC).


History


Founded by noted freedom-fighter Annie Besant in July 1898, with Dr. Arthur Richardson, a science graduate from England as the principal.,[1] and went on to become the nucleus of Banaras Hindu University, which was established in 1916.
This school had run under graduation classes as a loaner for Banaras Hindu University which was founded by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and was still under construction. The charge of the Central Hindu College was handed over to the Hindu University Society on 27 November 1915. By a notification issued by the Government, in October 1917, the Central Hindu College became a constituent college of the newly formed university.[2] The Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Library (Central Library), BHU was first housed in the Telang Library of the College in 1917.[3]
Noted theosophist, George Arundale joined the school as a history teacher in 1917, and later became the head of the school.

Reservation


As per the BHU EC resolution dated 29/30 March 1996, the following reservations will be given for admissions in the seats available for admission in various classes after giving seats to internal students:-
  • 15% seats are reserved for Schedule Caste candidates.
  • 7.5% seats are reserved for Schedule Tribe candidates.
  • 3% seats are reserved for physically challenged physically challenged (PC) candidates.
  • 50% seats available for admission shall be provided to the sons and daughters of permanent employees of BHU, subject to securing a minimum of 33% marks in Entrance Test.

Admission in Class 1: Application form for the admission in class 1 at ‘Shri Ranveer Sanskrit Vidyalaya, Kamachha’ will be available online from 10th March 2017. You can download the application form from the website “www.bhu.ac.in” on 10th March onwards.
Date and time of submission of application form: 17 March 2017 to 27 March 2017 on any working days (11 am to 1 pm).
Date and time of lottery: 2nd April 2017 (Sunday- 8 am to 10 am)

Main list: 3rd April 3017 (10 am to 1 pm)
Waiting list: 4th April (10 am to 12 noon)
Admission in Classes VI, IX and XI
Good news is here for all the students who were waitning for the admission in CHS. The online application for admission in CHS (Boys) and CHS (Girls) in classes VI, IX and XI will start from 17 of March 2017. Students will get admission in the CHS school on the basis of their ranks in the entrance exam.
Below is the details of dates of online application form availability, online admit card availability, entrance test, result declaration, and counselling/admission in CHS school:
